Ariana Padilla

Ariana is originally from San Jose California and is currently pursuing a B.A. degree in Psychology. She also works as a student coordinator for the Fiat Lux Scholars Program where she empowers first-generation college students to take charge of their educational experiences and provides services to promote their personal growth. Once she graduates from UC Merced in May 2022 Ariana hopes to continue her education to attain her Master's in Social Work and become a licensed clinical social worker. In her free time, she enjoys baking cookies, conchas, and other sweet treats as well as cooking Mexican food.
Melanie Candido Mendoza
Undergraduate Researcher
Melanie Candido Mendoza is a 3rd-year student at the University of California Merced, majoring in Psychology. Her research interests focus on the access and utilization of mental health services by Latinx immigrants. Another of her research interests includes how an individual’s upbringing influences their parenting habits and child development. She joined the IMPACT Lab because it resonates with her interest in public health and psychological factors centered around Latinx families. She views this as an opportunity to gain insight in the behavioral and family dynamics of underrepresented ethnic minorities. Roxana enjoys dancing Ballet Folklórico and hiking.
Destiny Biddle

Destiny Biddle is a 3rd year majoring in psychology at UCM! When Destiny isn’t doing school, she loves to hike and explore nature. She hopes to attend Graduate school to become a clinical psychologist and research/ learn more about the relationship between the brain and trauma. As a career she hopes to further her passion in working with adolescents and become a pediatric neuropsychologist
