Welcome to the Immigrant Parents, Adolescents, AND Children Thriving Lab at UC Merced.

Thank you for your interest in our work at the IMPACT lab. Our research focuses on immigrant families with adolescents and children, largely focused on Latinx families. We hope that this website can give you an overview of our past, current, and future work as well as of our team comprised of graduate students, undergrads, and faculty. Dr. Bámaca recently moved to the University of California, Merced in the Psychology Department. She was an Associate Professor at Penn State University for12 years.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions!

What is going on in the IMPACT Lab?

Our lab will be accepting students for Spring 2023 (pending university funds). Please contact Dr. Bamaca (mbamaca@ucmerced.edu) if interested!

Luis Paz de la Vega recently joined our lab as our first PhD graduate student in Developmental Psychology.

Roxana Bravo Nunez is now our Undergrad Research Team Leader. She will be taking over Nancy's responsibilities.

Roxana Bravo Nunez, our undergrad team leader for 2022-2023 recently started her PhD program in Developmental Psychology here at UC Merced. We wish her well in this new adventure.

Dr. Bamaca continues to co-advise Peter S.Y. Kim and Griselda Martinez at Penn State, who are both in the final stages of completing their dissertations.
